RESOLUTION LAWS AND RULES COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Town is a member of the Union County Purchasing Cooperative (“Cooperative”) as registered with the State Department of Community Affairs; and
WHEREAS, the County of Union, as lead agency of the Union County Purchasing Cooperative has conducted a competitive bid for natural gas and/or electricity in compliance with Local Public Contract Laws and recommended a natural gas and/or electricity supplier to the members of the Cooperative; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Westfield has awarded a gas supply contract as recommended by the County of Union as lead agency of the Union County Purchasing Cooperative; and
WHEREAS, in order to take advantage of natural gas deregulation in New Jersey, the Town must enter into natural gas transportation and distribution contracts (Utility Service Contracts) with the local natural gas and electric distribution companies (collectively “Utilities”) regulated by the State of New Jersey Board of Public Utilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the Council of the Town of Westfield that natural gas firm transportation supply contract is hereby awarded to Elizabethtown Gas Company as required by the Utilities for transportation and distribution services provided by the Utilities under the terms of their tariffs as filed with and approved by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities; and
