LET THE DREDGING BEGIN...Workers are shown here cutting down one of the trees as preliminary work for the hydraulic dredging of Lake Surprise in the Watchung Reservation gets under way. Lake Surprise, a Union County treasure, will be dredged over the next six to nine months. The $1.3 Mil. Project began this month with the digging of basins on Glenside Avenue. The basins will be used to store some 53,000 cubic yards of sediment that will be hydraulically dredged from the lake.
