Philip Lombardi, Sr., Army Veteran; Was Employed With General Motors

Philip Lombardi, Sr., 84, of North Plainfield died on Monday, November 22, at the Genesis ElderCare Center in Westfield.

in Staten Island, he had lived in Plainfield before moving to North Plainfield 60 years ago.

had been a line worker for General Motors in Linden, retiring in 1974 after 32 years with the company.

Mr. Lombardi was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

LucilleSanGiuliano

Lucille SanGiuliano of Cranford died on Tuesday, November 23, at home.

Born in Westfield, she lived in Cranford for most of her life.

Mrs. SanGiuliano was a member of the Cranford Senior Citizens Friday Club.

Surviving are her husband, Arthur SanGiuliano; a son, Joseph SanGiuliano; a daughter, Elaine Magee; seven grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren.

Services were held on Friday, November 26, at the Cranford United Methodist Church in Cranford.

Troy Stiffler, 74, Decorated Veteran; Had Been SelfEmployed Mason

TroyB.Stiffler, 74,ofScotchPlains died on Wednesday, November 24, at home.

Born in Prague, Pottawatomie Okla., he moved to Scotch Plains in 1946.

Mr. Stiffler had owned Stiffler Mason Contractors Inc. in Scotch Plains for 45 years before retiring in 1990. Earlier, he had been a superintendent with theArthurVenneriCompany in Westfield.

He was a 1949 graduate of the Newark School of Industrial Drafting and Design.

Vivian Levine,76,ofMountainside died on Thursday, November 25, in Overlook Hospital in Summit.

Born in Cheautagay, N. Y., she had lived in Springfield before moving to Mountainside 33 years ago.

Mrs. Levine had been a supervisor at Investment Casting Corporation in Springfield for 38 years prior to retiring in 1986.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph Levine; a son, Dr. Arthur Levine; twobrothers, RossEzroandAmbrose Ezro, and two grandchildren.

Theresa Larino, 66

Theresa Larino, 66, of Berkeley Township diedonThursday,November 25, in the Community Medical Center in Toms River.

Born in Bayonne, she had lived in Westfield and Scotch Plains before moving to the Silver Ridge Park East section of Berkeley Township.

Mrs. Larino had been an assistant branch manager with the Lincoln

Savings and Loan in Westfield for 25 years before retiring in 1993.

She was a member and fundraiser with Silver Ridge Park East.

Surviving are her husband, John Larino; two sons, John Larino and Edward Larino; two daughters, Janet Treffinger and Carol Larino; a brother, Leonard Volenski, and five grandchildren.

A Mass was offered on Tuesday, November 30, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Toms River.

Charles V. Scanielo, 47, of Westfield died on Thursday, November 25, in the New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Roselle before moving to Westfield three years ago.

Mr. Scanielo was a foreman with the Interstate Drywall in Clifton for 13 years.

Hewasa memberoftheCarpenter's Union Local No. 6 of Jersey City.

Surviving are his wife, Colleen Scanielo; twosons,MichaelScanielo and Christopher Scanielo, and a sister, Denise Barry.

A Mass was offered on Monday, November 29, in St. Joseph the Carpenter Roman Catholic Church in Roselle.

Nellie Megaro, 80, Was CoOwner Of Confectionary Store for 25 Years

NellieMegaro, 80,ofScotchPlains died on Thursday, November 25, in the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison.

Born in Hazelton, she had lived in Newark, Toms River and Union before movingto ScotchPlains20years ago.

Mrs. Megaro had been the coowner, with her late husband, Carmine Megaro, of Carmine's Confectionary Store in East Orange

Robert Dello Russo, 77, Retired Educator, Administrator in Westfield School District

Robert Dello Russo, 77, of Westfield, died on Friday, November 26, at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown.

Born in Westfield, he resided there for most of his life.

Mr. Dello Russo had been an educator and also an administrator in the Westfield public school system for 27 years, retiring in 1983.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

Patricia Moum, 70, Was Library Secretary At Edison School in Westfield for 14 Years

PatriciaAnn Moum,70,ofSeaford, Del., died on Friday, November 26, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.

Born in Eau Claire, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Elroy Edward Ledebur and Elsie Benson Ledebur Bailey.

Mrs. Moum had been a library secretary at Edison Intermediate School in Westfield, formerly known as Edison Junior High School, for 14 years prior to retiring in 1992.

She had been employed as a registered nurse at the Fairmont Municipal Hospital in Fairmont, Minn. from 1950 to 1958, when she began working for the Atomic Energy Commission in Ames, Iowa.

She was a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church and served on several committees, and was also a member of the Sussex Bird Club, of which she was Secretary.

Mrs. Moum volunteered at the Seaford Public Library.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Dr. Stanley Gordon Moum; three sons, Dr. Eric Elroy Ellsworth Moum of Boca Raton, Fla., Paul He was a member of Westfield

M. and James Dello Russo of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two stepsons, Andrew Rupp of Berkeley Heights and Christopher Rupp of Nevada; a stepdaughter, Sheila Deck of Bridgewater; three sisters, Frances Donato of Scotch Plains, Fanny HoenickeofPennsylvaniaand Mildred Valeri of California, and three grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will take place today, Thursday, December from 7 to 8: 30 p. m. at the Dooley ColonialHome,556Westfield Avenue in Westfield. A memorial service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad, 335 Watterson Street, Westfield, 07090.

Allan Moum of Westfield and Peter Stanley Moum of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Barbara Ann Moum of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Allan Edward Ledebur of Grand Junction, Colo. and Roger Benson Ledebur of Dallas, Tex., and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 11, at 11 a. m. at the Reformation Lutheran Church in Milford, Del.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, Del., 19963 or to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, in care of Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md., 21801.

A Mass was offered on Saturday, November 27, at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains, following funeral services at the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.

Beatrice G. Tetreault Maguire, 86, of Westfield,diedSunday,November 28, at home.

Born and educated in Montreal, Canada,she movedtoBoston,Mass., where she married James J. Maguire.

She lived in Quincy, Mass. for 48 years before moving to Westfield 14 years ago.

Mrs. Maguire worked at Maryland Casualty InsuranceCompanyinBoston for 20 years before retiring in 1975. Before that she had worked at the Gilcrest Department Store in Boston.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1953. Surviving areadaughter,Marianne M. Kerwin of Westfield; two grandsons, Colin Joseph Kerwin of Houston, Tex. and Kevin John Kerwin of Glenelg, Md., and five greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 4, at 9 a. m. at the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Avenue,Westfield.AMass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a. m. at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield. Interment will beat FairviewCemeteryinWestfield.

Cannonball House Holds Open House December 5

Lawrence Novello, 73, Worked in Finance; Owned Starlight Cleaners for 11 Years

Lawrence Novello,73,ofBarnegat died on Monday, November 29, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Barnegat.

Born in Montozzoli, Provence of Chiete, Italy, he had lived in Scotch Plains before moving to Barnegat in 1988.

Mr. Novello had owned the Star light Cleaners in Garwood for 11

years before retiring in 1988. Previ ously, he had worked in international finance for the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City and the New Jersey Bank in Paterson.

He attended the University of Naples and Pace University and Co lumbia University, both in New York City.

Mr. Novello served in the United States Army during the Korean Con276flict.

Surviving are his wife, Giovanna Novello; two sons, Michael Novello and Anthony Novello; two ters, Phyllis Reddington and Sandy
