Bids will be accepted only by mail or in person to the Office of the Township of Scotch Plains Municipal Building, 430 Park Avenue, Scotch Plains, New Jersey 07076 (ATTN.: Barbara Riepe, Township Clerk) until July 9, 1998 at 10: 00 a. m. The Township of Scotch Plains (hereinafter "Township") shall not be responsible for any bid mailed which is lost in transit or delivered late by the Postal Service. At the above time, the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bids must be presented in sealed envelopes which are clearly marked "Bid for Loading, Transportation and Disposal of Leaves Contract, Township Clerk, 430 Park Avenue, Scotch Plains, New Jersey 07076". After receipt of bids, no bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the date of the bid opening except if provided for herein. The bid of any Bidder who consents to an extension may be held for consideration for a longer period of time as may be agreed upon between Bidder and the Township.

Jr. Devil Laxers End Season With Montville Tournament
The Westfield Lacrosse Club's 8th Grade team completed its season on June 7 by competing in the New Jersey Junior Lacrosse League's Round Robin Tournament at Monville The Junior Devils tied one and lost four of the five games they played against the toughest competition in the state, including Mountain Lakes, Summit and Ridgewood.
Ridgewood also hosted Westfield on June 6 in the final regular season game and prevailed by a score of 115. Westfield got a pair of goals from Duffy Lau, both on nifty passes from Chris Freisen. Freisen collected a goal himself, as did Mike Chamey and Sean O'Dell
Coach Rich Werner told his players on June 6 that he was pleased with their development over the course of the season and that they had met their primary objective of developing their skills in preparation for play in high school.
"Wins and losses don't matter right now," Werner said. "The important
thing is that you are learning how to play the game at a higher level."
Members of the team moving on to high school play will be Tripp Bartlett, Mike Chad. Mike Debrossy, James Donovan, Greg Elliott, Chris Freisen Adam Gormley Lau, Tim Mansfield, Neil Owens, Chris Palentchar Mike Panza, Kevin Riley and Dan Seeger.
Though it was nominally an 8th grade team, eight members of the squad were seventh graders who will continue with the team next year Stephen Adamowitz, Rich Brautigam, Richie Harris, Charlie Hely, Joe McCabe, Sean O'Neill, Trevor Putnoky and Anthony Yudd will return next year. In addition to Head Coach Werner, the dedicated coaching staff included Brian Mulvey, Ivan Cohen, Bob Elliot and John Putnoky.

Inwin Bemstein of Westfield won a fourth consecutive 800- meter title in the New Jersey Senior Sports Classic at Fort Monmouth on June 13. Competing in the 65- 69 age group, Bernstein recorded a time of 2: 56.2 in capturing his eighth title in eight attempt over the past 10 years.
Earlier in the meet, Bernstein placed second in the 400- meter with a time of 1: 10.5, behind Shore Athletic Club teammate Alex Johnson (1: 07.5). Third place went to another team member, Richard Baretta, in 1: 12.3. Bernstein's performances earned him qualification to the 1999 National Senior Games.

Hills Soccer to Hold Three Soccer Camps
Hills Soccer Camps, Inc. in its 18th year has scheduled three soccer camp programs during July.
Two sessions will be held at Tamaques School in Westfield. Scheduled to run Mondays through Fridays, July 13 to July 17, and from July 27 to July 31, half and full day sessions are available. Half day session runs from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. and full- day sessions run from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. One session will be scheduled at Jersey Land Park in Scotch Plains and will run Monday through Friday, July 20 to July 24. This session also offers full or half day camps.
Also available are "soccer squirts" programs, offered at all locations, for children ages 3, 4 and 5, from 9 to 11 a. m. The program utilizes innovative practices to develop children's technical and tactical skills, improving and developing them as soccer players.
The camps are for boys and girls ages 3 to 14 and includes programs for beginners, intermediate, travel and select players. All camp participants will be organized into teams and will be given the opportunity to experience all positions.
Hills Soccer Camps' coaching staff are both female and male and are recruited from the top teachers and physical education colleges throughout England and the United States. For further information, please call Joe LaSpada at (908) 537- 7248.
