Miss Carolee Ritter Marries John Kitchens

Miss Carolee Ritter of Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Ritter of Westfield, was married on Saturday, July 11, to John T. Kitchens of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is the son of Ms.Joan AdamsofColoradoSprings.

The afternoonceremonytookplace at St. Helen’s Roman Catholic Church in Westfield, with the bride escorted by her father. Officiating at thenuptials wastheReverendDonald K. Hummel. A reception was held at Chanticler Chateau in Warren.

Miss Bonnie Ritter of Lincoln, Nebraska, the sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.

Lawny Norvel of Atlanta was the best man. Serving as an usher was Theodore S. Ritter of Union, the brother of the bride.

A 1985 Westfield High School alumna, the bride graduated in 1989 from Rutgers University in New Brunswick. She was awarded her Master of Arts Degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in English at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

The bridegroom graduated from Coronado High School in Colorado

Springs and from Colorado State University,where hereceivedaBachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management. He is self-employed as a general construction contractor in Atlanta.

The couple reside in Lincoln, Nebraska.

MR. AND MRS. JONATHAN C. POCHOS

Miss Susan Feathers Weds Jonathan Pochos

Miss Susan Jane Feathers, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Feathers of Cranford, formerly of Westfield, and Jenny Lake, New York, was married on Saturday, October 17, to Jonathan Christopher Pochos. He is the son of Mrs. Lesley Pochos of Philadelphia and George Pochos of Sarasota, Florida.

The afternoon ceremony took place at The Gables in Philadelphia with the University of Pennsylvania Chaplain William Gibson officiating. Champagne and cake were served at The Gables, followed by dinner at La Terrasse, also in Philadelphia.

The bride was escorted by her brothers, Richard F. Feathers, Jr. of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania and Robert H. Feathers of Boston.

Ms. Cynthia Feathers of Saratoga Springs, New York, the sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Ms. Gail Mooney of New York City and Paris, and Miss Gretchen Kruesi of Saratoga Springs, a niece of the bride, were the maids of honor. Miss Isabel Kruesi of Saratoga Springs, also a niece of the bride, was a junior maid of honor.

George Pochos of Philadelphia, the brother of the bridegroom, was the best man. Ramsey Pennypacker of Philadelphia was a groomsman.

The bride, a 1979 graduate of Westfield High School, received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees, summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1981.

She was awarded her Doctor of Law Degree from Northeastern University Law School in Boston in

1985. The bride is Director of the Public Service Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

A 1976 graduate of Lake Forest, Illinois High School, the bridegroom earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art History in 1981 from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently a freelance artist in Philadelphia.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the father of the bridegroom at Bookbinder’s in Philadelphia. A Sunday brunch was hosted by Mrs. Joan Shaugnessy, a friend of the bridegroom’s family.

Following a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple reside in Philadelphia.

Ms. Karen Holmgaard Is Bride of Jon Nagle

Ms. Karen Alison Holmgaard and Jon Olsen Nagle, formerly of Scotch Plains, were married on Friday, September 18, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Alice Walker Holmgaard of Phoenix, Arizona and the late Donald Holmgaard. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Nagle of Scottsdale.

The late afternoon ceremony took placeatthe homeofthebridegroom’s parents, with the Reverend William Dunbar of Tucson, Arizona officiating. A reception immediately followed the ceremony.

Wearing a cream silk dress with a sheer jacket, the bride was escorted by her sons, Steven Wise and Casey Holtz, with her daughter, Kendall Holtz, serving as a junior bridesmaid.

Mrs. Deborah Tenney was the matron of honor, and the bridegroom’sfather wasthebestman.

The bride carried a bouquet of orchids and rosebuds on top of a small heirloom Bible which had also beenused bythebridegroom’smother and grandmother. Her attendants wore pink lace and carried pink and white roses.

Welcomed By Forbes Family

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Forbes of Westfield have announced the birth of their daughter, Karen Emily Forbes, on Tuesday, October 20, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.

Karen weighed 8 pounds and measured 21 inches in length at birth.

The mother is the former Miss Jeannine Hanley.

Karen’s maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Hanley of Verona.

Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Forbes, Jr. of Putnam Valley, New York.

Ryan Manion Born to Yawgers

Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Yawger of Scotch Plains have announced the birth of their son, Ryan Manion Yawger, on Saturday, November 14, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.

Ryan weighed 9 pounds and 9 ounces and measured 21 inches in length at birth.

He joins his brother, R. J., age 2½. The baby’s maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene D. Manion of Oak Park, Illinois.

His paternal grandparents are Mrs. Florence Z. Yawger of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, formerly of Westfield,and thelateRichardJames Yawger.

Eric Shea Recognized In Who’s Who Edition

SCOTCH PLAINS – Eric Shea, the son of Eric and Denise Shea of Scotch Plains, will be included in the 1999 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

Eric, who graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Metuchen in 1995, is a senior political science major at Lynchburg College.
