Louis M. Pisane, 88
Louis M. Pisane, 88, of Lakehurst died on Sunday, March 29, at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Florida.
Born in Brooklyn, he had lived in Bound Brook for 35 years before moving to Lakehurst 14 years ago.
He was a tinsmith at American Cyanamid in Bridgewater. Mr. Pisane was a former member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Bound Brook.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Bridgit Argullo Pisane; two sons, Louis D. Pisane of Scotch Plains and Randolph Pisane of Westfield; a sister, Christine Pannone of St. Petersburg, Florida, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9 a. m. today, Thursday, April 2, at the Conroy Funeral Home in Bound Brook, followed by a 9: 30 a. m. Mass at St. Mary's Church in Bound Brook.

John Fiorino, 38, Local Firefighter; Coached Little League in Westfield
Winifred I. Watson, 72
Winifred I. Watson, 72, of Scotch Plains died on Monday, March 23, at home.
Born in New York City, she had lived in The Bronx before moving to Scotch Plains 28 years ago.
She had been an administrative assistant at Voorhees Community College in Brooklyn for 20 years, retiring in 1991.
Mrs. Watson was a former member of the Holy Ghost Pentecostal Tabernacle in New York City and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Springfield.
Surviving are her husband, Earl H. Watson; three daughters, Paula D. Watson, Michele C. Watson and Cheryl E. Watson, all of Scotch Plains; a brother, Ralph King of Cambria Heights, New York; two sisters, Sylvia Donnelly of East Orange and Marilyn Samuels of Staten Island, New York, and a granddaughter
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 27, at the Antioch Baptist Church. Arrangements were handled by the Judkins Colonial Home in Plainfield.

Edward Selert, 64
Edward Selert, 64, of Westfield died on Monday, March 23, at home.
Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Linden before moving to Westfield.
Mr. Selert had been a sprinkler fitter with Local No. 696 of Newark for 43 years before retiring in 1992.
He served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 through 1957.
Mr. Selert coached Little League baseball and football teams in Westfield. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Frances Selert; three sons, John Selert, Scott Selert and Carl Selert; three brothers, Arnold Selert, William Selert and Richard Selert; a sister, Lorraine Bennett, and six grandchildren.
Private funeral services were arranged by the Leonard- Lee Funeral Home in Linden.

Mary Tendermorne, 81, of Fanwood died on Thursday, March 26, in Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Newark, she had lived in Maplewood before moving to Fanwood last year.
Miss Tendermorne had worked part time as a clerk in the Maplewood Tax Assessor's Office for several years.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Tuesday, March 31, in Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in South Orange.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the McCracken Funeral Home in Union.

Had Been Police Officer in Fanwood
John Fiorino, 38, a lifelong resident of Westfield, died on Monday, March 30, at the Grandstrand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
He had been a volunteer firefighter in Westfield from 1983 to 1986, and was employed as a firefighter for the Town of Westfield since 1986.
Firefighter Fiorino was a member of the Firemen's Benevolent Association Local No. 30 of Westfield and the Exempt Firemen's Association.
He was a communicant of the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield and a member of the Italian- American Club of North Plainfield.
He coached Little League in Westfield for baseball, basketball, football and soccer.
Surviving are his wife, Allison Tortoriello Fiorino; two sons, Vincent
Fiorino and Stephen Fiorino; a daughter, Amy Fiorino; his parents, Joseph and Eleanor Fiorino of Westfield, and two sisters, Patricia Petersen of Westfield and Joanne Hughes of Lincroft.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a. m. tomorrow, Friday, April 3, at Holy Trinity Church. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 p. m. and from 7 to 9 p. m. today, Thursday, April 2, at the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Avenue, Westfield.
Memorial donations may be made to the Fiorino Children's Scholarship Fund, care of Westfield Firemen's Benevolent Association Local No. 30, 405 North Avenue, West, Westfield, 07090.

Frederick K. Bremmer, 70, of Manasquan died on Sunday, March 22, at home.
Born in Plainfield, he moved to Manasquan in 1964.
Mr. Bremmer had been a butcher for Shop- Rite Foodarama for 30 years at various locations, prior to retiring in 1989.
He had been a police officer in Fanwood from 1952 to 1959.
Mr. Bremmer was a member of the organizational committee and a charter member of the Fanwood Policeman's Benevolent Association No. 123.
He was also a member of the Fanwood Fire Department for 14
years, the Fanwood Rescue Squad and the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union Local No. 464A in Little Falls.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Rodgers Bremmer; four sons, Elliot Bremmer of Glendola, Glenn Bremmer of Point Pleasant Borough, Hugh Bremmer and Frederick Bremmer, Jr., both of Manasquan; three daughters, Nancy Bremmer of Lakewood, Mary Lou Brown of Jackson and Marcia Britton of Beachwood, and 11 grandchildren.
Private funeral services were arranged by the Neary- Quinn Funeral Home in Manasquan.

Nicholas Kosovan, 69, Army Veteran; Weldon Retiree Served as Volunteer
The Reverend Thomas Francis Grogan, 57, of Scotch Plains died on Sunday, March 29, in St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.
Born in Newark, Father Grogan was ordained on May 25, 1968.
He was Assistant Pastor at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
Previously, Father Grogan had served at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jersey City, Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in New Providence, Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in
South Orange, St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Rutherford, and St. James Roman Catholic Church in Springfield.
Surviving are his parents, Thomas F. Grogan, Sr. and Helen B. Grogan; two brothers, Peter L. Grogan and Paul D. Grogan, and a sister, Veronica Ann Hegedus.
A Mass will be offered at 11 a. m. tomorrow, Friday, April 3, in St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church in Scotch Plains. Arrangements are being handled by the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.

Nicholas Kosovan, 69, of Palm Bay, Florida, died on Thursday, March 26, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
Born in Manville, he had lived in Scotch Plains and Fanwood for many years before retiring to Palm Bay in 1990.
Mr. Kosovan had been a quarry operator at Weldon Concrete in Watchung for more than 10 years before retiring in 1990.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
In Palm Bay, he was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Mr. Kosovan was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanne Hartman Kosovan, in
1976. Surviving are his wife, Vivian Busch Kosovan; a daughter, Nancy Ziemienski; a step- daughter, Karin Reinenger; three sons, Gordon Kosovan, Stuart Kosovan and Richard Kosovan; a brother, John Kosovan, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.

Dorothy Christiano of Garwood died on Monday, March 30, in the Westfield Network, Genesis ElderCare Center in Westfield.
Born in Westfield, she had lived there until moving to Garwood 18 years ago.
She had been employed for 44 years as an inspector for Accurate Bushing Company in Garwood, retiring in 1987.
Miss Christiano was a member of the Garwood Seniors Citizens and the Sons of Italy of Garwood, Golden Age of Cranford and C. A. U. S. E. of Jersey City.
She was a former volunteer for Meridian Nursing Home of Westfield. Surviving are eight nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, Thursday, April 2, in St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Garwood. Interment will take place in Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
Arrangements are being handled by the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Avenue in Westfield.

Richard Reinhardt, Sr.
Richard George Reinhardt, Sr., 62, died on Wednesday, March 25, in the Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.
Born in Garwood, he had lived in Westfield and Neptune before moving to El Paso in 1992.
Mr. Reinhardt was a plant manager for Antec, formerly Keptel of Tinton Falls, in El Paso for 12 years.
He was a member of the Society of Plastics Engineers and the Vista Hills Country Club of El Paso.
Mr. Reinhardt had served in the United States Marine Corps during peacetime.
Surviving are his wife, Antoinette Reinhardt; two sons, Anton Reinhardt and Richard Reinhardt, Jr.; four daughters, Diane Reinhardt, Debbie Knoeller, Sharon Loyd and Carolyn Natkie; three brothers, David Reinhardt, Kenneth Reinhardt and Robin Reinhardt; three sisters, Shirley Wansaw, Judy Funk and Kathy McGee, and eight grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Tuesday, March 31, at St. Elizabeth's Church in Avon. Arrangements were handled by the Ely Funeral Home in Neptune.

John Tracey, Jr., 76, Board Member; Former Directory Vice President
Louise Montagna, 89
Louise Paolello Montagna, 89, of Scotch Plains died on Saturday, March 28, at home.
Born in Newark, she had lived in Scotch Plains since 1936.
Mrs. Montagna had worked in the administrative division of the Union Center National Bank in Union for 15 years prior to retiring in 1974.
She was a member of St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains and the Scotch PlainsFanwood Senior Citizens, where she was a past recipient of the Senior of the Year Award. She also was a volunteer for the Scotch Plains Thrift Shop.
Her husband, Thomas Montagna, Sr., died in 1955.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Montagna, Jr.; three daughters, Joyce Covine, Shirley Biegler and Marlene Lawatsch; a sister, Christine Viscardi; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great- grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was offered yesterday, Wednesday, April 1, in St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
Arrangements were handled by the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.

John J. Tracey, Jr., 76, of Monmouth Beach died on Friday, March 27, at home.
Born in Belmont, Massachusetts, he had lived in Scotch Plains before moving to Monmouth Beach in 1976.
He was a 1943 graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Tracey had worked for the National Telephone Directory in Union, now located in Somerset, for 35 years prior to retiring as its Executive Vice President in 1982.
He was a member of the Monmouth Beach Planning Board and the Deal Golf and Country Club.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey Tracey; a son, J. Stephen Tracey; a sister, Helen
Austin, and five grandchildren. A Funeral Mass was offered on Tuesday, March 31, at the Church of the Precious Blood in Monmouth Beach.
Arrangements were handled by the John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank.

Born in Hoboken, he had lived in Mountainside before moving to Berkeley Township in 1989.
Mr. Sarich had been a communications specialist for 36 years with New Jersey Bell in Newark before retiring in 1984.
He received a Victory Medal, the European- African- Middle East Ser vice Medal and the American Campaign
Medal in World War II. Mr. Sarich was a member of the Elks Lodge in Toms River.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Sarich; two sons, David A. Sarich and Robert Galiano; two daughters, Nancy Varmette and Patti Ann McDaniel; a brother, Christian Sarych, and six grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by the Quinn- Hopping Funeral home of Toms River.

Lillian V. Rushford Shouffler, 85, Inducted Into Bowling Hall of Fame
Lillian V. Rushford Shouffler, 85, of Westfield died on Monday, March 30, at Greenbrook Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Green Brook.
Born in Burton, West Virginia, she had lived in Charleston, West Virginia, before moving to Westfield in 1951. She had lived in Westfield for 46 years before moving into Greenbrook Manor last year.
Mrs. Shouffler was a former member of the Union County Bowling Association and was inducted into the Union County Bowling Hall of Fame.
She was predeceased by her husband, Howard B. Shouffler, in 1989; a daughter,
Joanne E. Cuccaro, in 1992; a brother, John Rushford, and two sisters, Wilma Cain and Lucille Zetty.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy J. DiDario of North Plainfield; a son, Howard E. Shouffler of Branchburg; a brother, William Rushford of Morgantown, West Virginia; a sister, Dorothy Teets; six grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. today, Thursday, April 2, at the Werson Funeral Home in Linden.

Catherine V. Brandauer, 80, Retiree; Crossing Guard Won Optimist Award
Catherine V. Brandauer, 80, of Scotch Plains died on Saturday, March 28, in the Villa Maria in North Plainfield.
Born in Staten Island, she had moved to Scotch Plains many years ago.
Mrs. Brandauer had been a crossing guard for the Scotch Plains Police Department for 32 years prior to retiring several months ago. She had received the Law and Enforcement Award from the Optimist Club Inter national in 1993.
She was a member of the Corner Stone Club of St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church in Westfield.
Surviving are a son, Frank J. Brandauer; a sister, Gladys Connell, and two grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 9: 30 a. m. on Saturday, April 4, in St. Helen's Church in Westfield, following the funeral from the Rossi Funeral Home in Sctoch Plains.

Albert "Benny" Mele, 59, of Millington died on Tuesday, March 31, at home.
Born in Morristown, he had lived in Millington for 32 years.
He was a self- employed mason contractor in Somerset and Morris Counties for 40 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Trudy Mele, in 1982, and by a daughter, Janice Mele, in 1981.
Surviving are a son, Albert Mele, Jr. of Bernardsville; two daughters, Joan MeleLorenzo of Three Bridges and Donna Mele- Parolari of Morristown; a brother, Michael Mele of Morristown; two sisters, Josephine Hulyo of Fairview and Carmela Patrone of Westfield, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. tomorrow, Friday, April 3, at St. Vincent De Paul Roman Catholic Church in Stirling.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m. today, Thursday, April 2.

Katherine Perry, 30, of Bremerton, Washington, died on Sunday, March 22, at home.
Born in Perth Amboy, she had lived in Fanwood, in Troy, Michigan, and in Mendham before moving to Bremerton in 1992.
Miss Perry was a special education teacher with the Bremerton school district since 1992.
She was a 1990 graduate of Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Special Education.
Miss Perry was a volunteer with Paws, a cat adoption service in Bremerton.
Surviving are her parents, Janet and Leland Perry; two brothers, Scott Perry and Todd Perry, and her grandmothers, Doris Perry and Meta Pekau.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a. m. on Saturday, April 4, in the Grace Lutheran Church, 65 East Main Street, in Mendham.
