Megan Sheehy of the Westfield High School girls’ soccer team was selected New Jersey Player of the Year and was named an All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Westfield High School girls’ soccer player, Megan Sheehy, was honored, along with a select number of girls throughout the country, at a dinner on January 18 as an All-American Soccer Player.

The dinner was part of the National Soccer Convention which was held in Nashville, Tennessee from January 16 through January 19.

Sheehy was selected as a high school All-American midfielder by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In addition, Sheehy was named New Jersey Player of the Year.

The 1996 Westfield High School girls’ soccer team, which finished with a 20-3 record, ranked as the 20th best girls’ high school soccer team in the nation.
