Youth Symphony to Begin Season With New Conductor

The New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS), Inc. senior musicians will begin the upcoming season under the leadership of a new conductor, Adrian Bryttan.

Mr. Bryttan will join the artistic staff of the organization, which recently was awarded a Citation of Excellence by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

Mr. Bryttan is a conductor of national and international orchestras, opera companies and other youth orchestras. The Youth Symphony’s premiere performance under his direction will include a multi-media production of Gunther Schullers’s Seven Studies on Themes of Paul Klee.

In February, the Symphony will provide the musical score for a showing of the silent film, The Flesh and the Devil, starring Greta Garbo and John Garfield.

Mr. Bryttan is also a solo violinist, instructor and recording artist.

Not only will the young performers have a new conductor, they will have a new musical home, as well.
