westfield nj David B. Corbin for The Westfield Leader and The Times The Westfield Mayors First Annual Golf Outing came off as a success at Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune after having been rescheduled from August 21 to August 28 due to severe rain and flooding conditions and despite having the constant threat of inclement weather.
Friends, associates and acquaintances of Westfield Mayor Thomas C. Jardim were in attendance. Although there were no "Legends of Golf" produced, fun was had by all who attended and several individuals came home with some "one upsmanship" awards. Everyone survived the outing and everyone had a good time. Clark mayor Bob Ellenport captured the Longest Drive award, Helen Karamus won the Closest to the Pin by a Woman award and Norman "Dutch" Sevelle won the Closest to the Pin by a Man. The Lowest Score for a Foursome was won by Ken Fromer, George Kraemer, Donald Gray, Jr. and Donald Prendergast. The Highest Score was turned in by Joanne Rajoppi, the Lowest Gross Score was turned in by Ken Fromer and the award for the Lowest Net Score was given to John Moore, Jr.
