    JoAnn was elected as a representative to the Town Council from the Second Ward in 2003 and then re-elected in 2007. She is presently the Acting Mayor, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Transportation and Parking Committee and is a member of the Finance Committee. JoAnn has also served as Chairperson of the Public Works Committee, has been a member of the Town Code Committee and she is also the Town’s Liaison to the Municipal Alliance, Chamber of Commerce and the Liaison to the Board of Education.
    During her time on Town Council JoAnn has worked hard advocating for the residents of the Second Ward as well as the Town as a whole. While chair of Public Works she worked to improve the Department of Public Works, streamling the permit application process, helping communications within the department and with the residents, all while reducing manpower through attrition. While on the Finance Committee JoAnn has been able to bring her passion for being fiscally conservative into play. Along with the other members of the Finance Committee, JoAnn has worked diligently to present a budget within the 2% mandated cap and continue to provide the citizens of Westfield with the same level of services they expect. JoAnn understands the value of managing a budget in these challenging economic times.
    During her time on Council JoAnn has helped improve traffic safety around Wilson and Washington Elementary Schools. She has responded to constituents requests for street repairs and improvements throughout the Second Ward as well as in other neighborhoods.
    JoAnn is passionate about being accessible to her constituents. She is always available to the residents of the Town, hoping to provide the assistance they need. Helping people with the issues that effect the quality of their life is the primary reason she has served on Council and continues to seek to hold office.
    JoAnn has often said that it is her privilege to serve the residents of Westfield and that she will continue to work hard to earn the respect and trust of the people who elect her.
    As resident of Westfield for the last twenty years, JoAnn has stayed at home full time to raise her family with her husband Kevin. They have 3 children, Kevin, Christopher and Elisabeth. Her two sons are in college while Elisabeth is a sophomore at Westfield High School. JoAnn is an attorney, she was an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn before having children. She recently became a member of the New Jersey bar and is now practicing law part time.
    JoAnn is on the Board of the Youth and Family Counseling Services, has been a CASA volunteer and Food Pantry volunteer at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
    JoAnn is running for re-election unopposed but is working very hard to earn your vote! She is committed to Westfield, its future and its residents.
