Candidate Bio and Statement: Peter B. Lijoi, Esq., a 27 year resident of Summit, New Jersey, is a graduate of Montclair State University with a B.A. in History and Pace University School of Law with a J.D. Degree. He is a member of the bar of the States of New Jersey and New York. He is a certified tax assessor in the State New Jersey and currently serves as President of and a Commissioner on the Union County Board of Taxation. As legal counsel and he has represented publicly and privately held national companies and successfully directed and managed the profitable completion of multi-million dollar projects and organizations. As legal counsel to the County of Rockland Industrial Development Agency he worked to expand industrial and commercial companies in New York creating jobs and ratables in the New York/New Jersey Region. He also served as the County Energy Conservation Coordinator for the County of Rockland, New York. Mr. Lijoi’s law career has included an ongoing commitment to the community and is dedicated to public service. He has served as a member of the Union County Republican Committee and City of Summit Republican Committee for over 15 years. He was legal counsel to Assemblyman Eric Munoz during his tenure in the New Jersey General Assembly. He has coached soccer, is a past president of the Summit Soccer Club, the Summit Music Parents and the PTA. He was member of the Rockland County Girl Scout Council Board of Directors, the Summit Planning Board and the Summit Environmental Commission. He is married to Christine C. Lijoi and has two sons who were born and raised in Summit, New Jersey.
