COLLISION WITH SCHOOL BUS...A Ford Explorer overturned, Monday, in
Westfield at the intersection of Boulevard and Washington Street when a school bus, operated by the Vogel Bus Company, ran a stop sign, resulting
in a collison. A 14-year-old on the bus and three youths in the car, ranging from 4 to 11, along with the bus driver, were not injured. The
driver was extricated from the car by Westfield firefighters and taken to an area hospital. The condition of the driver of the SUV is not known
at this time, although her injuries were not believed to be life threatening, police said.

The concept of "do more with less" seems to be taking hold this year in local governments in everything from merging operations at the county level to generating new revenue sources for schools. While this is good news, more needs to be done to cut spending.
