IF IT’S SPRING, IT MUST BE PANCAKE BREAKFAST TIME…Keeping with tradition, the Scotch Plains Lions Club
held its annual pancake breakfast, featuring eggs, sausage and bacon at the Scotch Plains Country Club
last Sunday. The Scotch Plains chapter of the international Lions organization actively helps the
blind and visually impaired, provides free eye screening during Scotch Plains Health Fair Day and
contribute to local charities. Above, longtime pancake-breakfast cook Lance Booth makes hundreds of
pancakes during the morning to serve breakfast attendees. |

Reform Thoughts |
 |
Scotch Plains-Fanwood Board of Education officials this week are considering cutting the high school’s ROTC, German classes and the freshman sports program to reduce the proposed tax-levy increase to 4 percent. Why not consider cutting school administrators? Sharing a vice principal or assistant superintendent with a surrounding district?
