Reform Thoughts |
 |
Local governments, as part of settlement agreements of legal issues, have been approving early retirement packages to employees. By approving such agreements, the taxpayer is not permitted to see how much money is given as lump sum payments, as well as the total cost of benefits packages to these workers. We believe such agreements should be fully disclosed as public documents prior to votes by elected
officials.
