Background:
The candidate has
worked as a financial analyst for Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, and most
recently as a pricing analyst for American Standard in Piscataway. The
candidate also works as a professional actor, and has appeared on
television.
Education:
Mr. Van Blake
is a graduate of Lehigh University, where he earned a Bachelor of
Sciences Degree in Finance. Mr. Van Blake also spent his junior year
abroad studying at the University of Nottingham in England.
Family Life: Mr.
Van Blake is single and lives in Plainfield.
Government Experience:
Mr.
Van Blake was elected to the City Council in Plainfield in 2002, winning
office by defeating a 16-year incumbent by more than a 2-1 margin. He is
now serving as the City Council President. In 2006, he served as the
Chairman of the Committee as a Whole, and has helped spear-head economic
development projects such as the Senior Center, and the Seidler Field
and Rushmore Park public pools renovations, and the Park-Madison
Redevelopment Project.
