Professional
Background: The candidate owns and
operates Glenn Mortimer & Associates, an insurance and
financial planning business located in Mountainside. He
also is a realtor at Century 21 Taylor & Love in
Westfield, where he started in 2002. Before becoming
a realtor, Mr. Mortimer worked at a variety of project
management and systems analyst positions with several
Fortune 500 firms.
Education:
Mr. Mortimer received his B.A. in Economics from Drew
University in Madison. While there, he was inducted into
Omicron Delta Epsilon, an Economics honor society. He is
also received a certification to be a municipal official
from Rutgers University.
Family
Life: The candidate and his wife Joanne live in
Mountainside.
Governmental
Experience: Mr. Mortimer has served as a Mountainside
councilman from 1999 to the present. He was council
president in both 2000 and 2005. The candidate has also
worked as chairman of Mountainside’s administrative and
executive committee and is a member of the police
committee.
Clubs
and Organizations: The candidate is a member of the
Mountainside Library Board of Trustees. He is also a
member of the Mountainside Historic Preservation Committee
and the Children’s Specialized Hospital Board of
Trustees. Additionally, Mr. Mortimer serves as director of
the Mountainside Rotary Club.
