Professional Background: Mr. Lombardo works as a safety coordinator/risk manager for the County of Union's Department of Public Works.
Education:
Mr. Lombardo is a graduate of
East Side High School in Newark. He received a B.S. in Business
Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master's Degree in
Public Administration from Kean University.
Family Life: Mr. Lombardo has been married for 37 years to Carol;
they have two children, Gregory and Christina.
Government
Experience:
Charles Lombardo has been a resident of Garwood for the past 32 years.
He has served on the borough council for the past 21 years. Currently,
Mr. Lombardo serves as council president, a position his peers have selected him to hold a number of times while on
the council. He brings experience and knowledge of government and the needs of Garwood’s citizens to the table, having served on or chaired every major
borough committee, including Police, Fire, Finance, Streets and Roads,
Recreation, Laws and Licenses and Ecology. He is currently the liason to
the industrial and commercial committee, the public celebrations
committee, the Garwood Municipal Alliance, the shade tree commission,
the planning board and the board of health.
Clubs
and Organizations: Mr. Lombardo is the coordinator of the town-wide
yard sale and the clean communities day. He is affiliated with the
Church of St. Anne (communicant), the Knights of Columbus (Msgr. John M.
Walsh Council #5437), the National Eagle Scout Association and the Phi
Alpha Alpha Honor Society at Kean University. He is a past president of
the Garwood Democratic Club and the current Garwood Municipal Chairman.
