Background: Mr. Sluka has been a
senior loan officer and branch manager at First Horizon Home Loans
(previously Greenwich Home Mortgage) in Eatontown, NJ since 1999.
From 1984-1987 he served in the U.S. Army, Military Police, European
Honor Guard, which was based in Stuttgart, Germany. From
1990-1992, Mr. Sluka was employed in Zurich, Switzerland as an American
liaison for Oerlikon-Contraves, a maker of Military radar equipment.
From 1993-1996, Mr. Sluka worked for United Way of Hudson County in
Jersey City as the director of fundraising.
Education:
Mr. Sluka earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal
Justice at John Jay College, City University of New York and graduated
May of 1990 cum laude.
Family
Life: Mr. Sluka has been married to
Barbara Regina for 11 years and has 2 children, Gabriella and Zachary. He has been a Garwood homeowner since 1997.
Governmental
Experience: Mr. Sluka served as the Garwood Recreation Commission
chairman for 3 years, a trustee of the Education Foundation of Garwood for
two years and has just
joined the Garwood planning board and community center committee as a member
this year. He has also been a Garwood baseball coach for three years.
