Professional
Background: Mrs. Barabas
currently works as a realtor associate at Prudential New Jersey
Properties in Westfield. She also owns Diane B Designs, an interior
design consulting firm which was located in downtown Westfield for eight
years. Before the birth of her children, Mrs. Barabas worked for
Westinghouse/Philips Lighting’s manufacturing department as a wage and
salary executive administrator.
Education:
The candidate holds an Associates degree in communications and Spanish
and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison. She also holds
both a residential and commercial certification in the lighting industry
from the Illuminating Engineering Society. Additionally, Mrs. Barabas
annually attends summer college in Rome, Italy.
Family
Life: Mrs. Barabas and her
husband live in Westfield. They have two children, Kristina and Karsten.
Governmental
Experience: This is the
candidate’s first attempt at public office, however she has been
involved in the Westfield community. She currently serves as the
Mayor’s appointee on the Westfield Downtown Corporation Special
Improvement District. Mrs. Barabas has also served as chairman of The
Westfield Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of the Westfield Day Care
Center Auxiliary and the Board of Trustees.

Mrs. Barabas is a member of the Westfield Rotary Club and the Union
County Board of Realtors.
