Information
Professional Background:
The candidate is a registered nurse and has
worked as an RN for 7 years. Prior to becoming a nurse, she worked as a
secretary for the Township of Scotch Plains in the office of the Municipal
Manager.
Education:
Ms.
Sorge has a diploma with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Union County
College through Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield.
Family Life: The candidate is
single and a life-long Scotch Plains resident.
Governmental Experience: Ms. Sorge became a member of the Scotch Plains
Town Council in January of
2003 and is currently a member of the
Council. Prior to her election, she served as a member of the Zoning Board
of Adjustment.
Clubs and Organizations:
The candidate is a longtime member of the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad. She
has also worked with the Scotch Plains Fire Department, and was the first
female firefighter in the history of Scotch Plains. Ms. Sorge is active in
the Fanwood – Scotch Plains Girl Scouts and a Gold Award recipient.
