Cockren. Erin was introduced to golf by her father Robert at Baltusrol Golf Course in Springfield when she was just eight years old. But reaching the level of proficiency to become a champion did not come easy and plenty of painstaking hours of practice were required.
“I started playing seriously about three summers ago. Then when I got involved with the junior program, I got good enough that it wasn’t drudgery to play holes and holes and holes,” said Cockren.
Erin plays almost every day during the summer and competes in several tournaments which should prepare her well when she competes on the Westfield High School golf team next spring.
