Tina Weinberg of Scotch Plains, who turned 103 on July 30, died on Wednesday, March 29, in the Ashbrook Nursing and Columbiabeforemovtion Center in Scotch Plains.
Born in Newark, she had lived in Elizabeth and Springfield before cently moving to Scotch Plains.
Mrs. Weinberg was a life member andfourgrandof
Hadassah, Deborah and the hood of Temple B’Nai Israel, all of Elizabeth.
Adalbert’sRomanCathoSurviving are a son, Dr. Stanley Weinberg; a sister, Mildred Kaye;
Mefive grandchildren and three grandchildren.
Services were held on Thursday, March 30, at the Menorah Chapels at Millburn in Union.

James Slocum, Jr., 55
James H. Slocum, Jr., 55, of Oceanport died on Thursday, March 30, at the Meridian Nursing and habilitation Center in Red Bank.
Born in Elizabeth, he had lived in Cranford beforemovingtoOceanport 15 years ago.
Mr. Slocum had been a site ager with the Morton Division of the Rohm & Hass Corporation in New Egypt and retired from E. I. Du Pont de Nemours in Parlin after 26 years as a chemical engineer.
He was a 1967 graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
He was a communicant of St. Dorothea Roman Catholic Church in Eatontown.
He was predeceased by his father, James H. Slocum, Sr.
Surviving are his wife, the former Kathleen Griffin; a son, Michael T. Slocum of Oceanport; his mother, Helen Laverty Slocum; a brother, George Slocum of Cranford, and a sister, Joan Alder of Mountainside.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, April 3, at St. Dorothea Church. Interment was pri vate.
Arrangements were under the di rection of the Braun Funeral Home in Eatontown.

Stewart W. Kelley, 84, of WashingSECTION ton, D. C. died on Friday, March 31, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Washington, D. C.
Born in Brooklyn, he had lived in Westfield and in Tampa, Fla. before relocating to Washington, D. C.
Mr. Kelley was a United StatesArmy veteran of World War II, serving as a rifleman in Italy and North Africa be fore being captured in 1942. He was a prisoner of war until 1946 and retired from the Army in 1964.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan O’Neal; a son, Dennis Kelley; two sis ters, Virginia Miller and Muri Huston; three grandchildren and four greatof grandchildren.
Private memorial services will be held at 2 p. m. today, Thursday, April 6,

Mrs. Cooke had been employed at Art Color Corporation, formerly of Dunellen.
She was a former member of the Shiloh Baptist Church of Plainfield.

Philomena Stripto Craffo, 87, of Scotch Plains died on Monday, April 3, at Rahway Hospital in Rahway.
Born in Plainfield, she lived in Scotch Plains for 30 years.
Mrs. Craffo had been employed in foodservice atPlainfieldHighSchool for 18 years before retiring in 1978.
She was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church in Plainfield and a member of its Rosary Society.
She was predeceased by her hus band, Austin Craffo, in 1969 and by a son, Peter J. Craffo, in 1967.
Surviving are a daughter, Pauline C. Stumpf of Fanwood; three sisters, Sophie Desiato of Scotch Plains, Pauline Nigro and Caroline Donelan, both of Plainfield, and two grand children.
Funeral services will be held at 9: 30 a. m. today, Thursday,April 6, at the Higgins Home for Funerals in Plainfield, followed by a 10 a. m. Mass at St. Bernard’s Church. Inter ment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.

Born in Poland, he came to the United States in 1951. He had lived in Newark and Irvington for 25 years before settling in Fanwood in 1981.
Mr. Anaczkowski had been em ployed as a steelworker for United
States Steel Supply Company in Newarkfor25years, retiringin1977.
He was a communicant of the Sa cred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Irvington.
Surviving are two sons, Eugene Anaczkowski and Ignatius Anaczkowski; a daughter, Christina Gonnella, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted yesterday, Wednesday, April 5, from the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch

Robert W. Heffernan, 65, of Edison died on Monday, April 3, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in New Brunswick, he had lived there for 20 years and in husPiscataway for 25 years before moving
to Edison. Mr. Heffernan had been employed as a clerk with the Highland Park Post Office for 40 years, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in South River and a member of the New Jersey Jazz Society. InterSurviving are his wife, Thea
Heffernan; two sons, Robert W. Heffernan, Jr. ofBridgewaterandBrian
Heffernan of Edison; two daughters, Deborah Morone of Middlesex and JenniferHeffernan ofEdison;abrother, Donald Heffernan of Woodbridge; a sister, Elizabeth Czaszar of Mountainside, and five grandchildren.
A blessing will be offered at 10 a. m. tomorrow,Friday,April 7,attheBoylan Funeral Home in Edison. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Brunswick.

Dorothy Riddle, 74, Taught Biology At Plainfield High School for 17 Years
DorothyRiddle, 74,ofWestfielddied on Thursday, March 30, in Rahway Hospital.
BorninDetroit, shelivedinWestfield since 1957.
Mrs. Riddle had taught biology at Plainfield High School for 17 years before retiring in 1987. Previously, she had worked as a substitute teacher in Clark and Westfield.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in 1946 and a master’s degree in 1960, both in science, from Wayne State University in Detroit.
She was a member of the New Jersey Education Association for many years.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Lawrence P. Riddle; two daugh ters, Jeri R. Miller and Kristi LaRosa; a son, Hamilton Paul Riddle, and three grandchildren.
Serviceswere heldonTuesday,April 4, in the Chapel of The Presbyterian Church in Westfield.

Bernard Rowe, 82, Corporate Attorney; Was in Army Intelligence During War
Bernard Rowe, 82, of Westfield died on Friday,April 1, in Rahway Hospital.
Born in South River, he had lived in Elizabeth and in Roselle Park before moving to Westfield 40 years ago.
A corporate attorney, Mr. Rowe had served as General Counsel for the Canada Dry Corporation in New York City before retiring in 1982. Prior to that, he had worked for Norton Simon, Inc. in NewYork City as assistant to the President, SecretaryandGeneralCoundied sel of the McCall Corporation.
He had earlier been in private pracBorn tice in Newark and Dover.
Mr. Rowe graduated summa cum laude in 1938 from Lafayette Univerand sity in Easton, Pa., where he received a Gary scholarship. He was awarded an Epstein scholarship while attending Harvard Law School, from which he graduated in 1941. He was admitted to theNewJersey BarAssociationin1942.
He was a First Lieutenant in the military intelligence of the United States Army during World War II.
He was a life member of the Union County Figure Skating Club.
Surviving are his wife, Lily Rowe; twodaughters, LoisFishmanandJanice Blinder, and four grandchildren.
Services were held on Sunday, April 2, in the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield.
